In January of 2015 I noticed something looked off in the hue of a cheek I had painted in the last year. A year of corporate denials, expensive private testing and existential uncertainty later, I determined that under normal lighting conditions, the warm red I had been using for six years would visibly fade within 20 years (despite the label indicating otherwise).
Any post from 2016 on will be of painting I have either newly completed, or old ones that have been sanded down and painted in reliable, personally tested materials.
I make paintings about why people do things, as individuals, or as large groups.
